Black Exclusion Taskforce Report
The Taskforce on Black Exclusion and Black Achievement was hosted at Stoke Newington School, London, between September 2022 – June 2024.
It was set established “to consider ways to address structural inequality in exclusions and outcomes for Black students in secondary schools in Hackney, London”. The Taskforce comprised teachers, parents, students, governors and other educationalists external to Hackney.
The Taskforce was set up “to consider ways to address structural inequality in exclusions and outcomes”. Specifically, the Taskforce identified eight priority areas which formed the basis of its Action Plan. These were: Peer Mentoring, SLT Mentoring, Academic Monitoring, Capacity-development for staff, Sustain and improve Home-School partnerships, Employability & Destinations (raising ambitions and aspirations), Behaviour management, and Student voice.
