Overview
The MBA – Leadership, Equity & Organisational Development aims to develop an understanding and critical appreciation of the theories, tools and techniques of leadership and equity, diversity & inclusion that will enable programme learners to more effectively contribute to or lead organisational change. In doing so, the programme seeks to simultaneously improve the management practice, leadership for equity – essential elements of organisational development.
The overarching purpose of this MBA is to provide learners with:
- An advanced understanding of leadership, management and change – within and beyond the organisational context
- An advanced understanding of equity, diversity & inclusion, intersectionality and people management – within and beyond the organisational context
- Opportunities for the systematic development of the skills of objective analysis, evaluation, and criticality in decoding complex EDI data and legal casework related to EDI
- Opportunities to develop confidence in effectively appraising and implementing management strategies, as well as critiquing and improving existing policy and other systems
- An ability to apply and combine knowledge and understanding of organisations and peoples, resulting in a more nuanced way of managing this complex interplay
- A stimulating academic and professional environment based on openness, empathy, curiosity and critical appraisal.
The MBA – Leadership, Equity & Organisational Development consists of 180 level 7 credits based on the UK’s National Qualifications Framework for Masters degrees, and the content has been being informed by QAA (UK Quality Assurance Agency) benchmark statements for programmes in Management, Leadership and Business. In addition, extensive research has been undertaken to ensure this qualification reflect tasks and activities for stakeholders in a range of organisational contexts. This programme requires successful completion of all compulsory elements, including an Institution Focused Change Study (Impact Case Study).
MBA Study Plan
What will you study?
As we seek to decolonise knowledge and access, we have ensured MBA is as accessible as possible. As a result, we have created 5 routes to entry.
For example, upon successful completion of one of our Level 7 qualifications: (i) EDI Fellowship (ii) Level 7 Certificate in EDI (iii) Level 7 Diploma in EDI or (iv) Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Leadership, and (v) via Direct Entry.
Entry routes 1-4 provide advance placement and credit exemptions. For those admitted to our MBA via direct entry, the modules they will need to complete, and pass are set out below:
