Academic and Professional Courses
Programmes
Through our suite of EDI courses, we at the Institute for Equity, University Centre have codified EDI as a field of professional and academic study.
Why Choose the Institute for Equity?
Rooted in Equity and Social Justice
Our academic and professional courses are rooted in a multidimensional and intersectional understanding of equity, recognising that social justice is not a one-size-fits-all solution, but a dynamic process that requires critical engagement across race, gender, class, disability, sexuality, and other interlocking systems of power.
Our courses equip students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to challenge structural inequalities and drive transformative change in their communities and professional fields. Grounded in interdisciplinary scholarship and informed by lived experiences, our courses encourage learners to critically examine how inequities are produced, maintained, and resisted within local, national and global contexts.
All of our courses are grounded in practice and informed by research.
Who Are Our Programmes Aimed At?
Whether you are interested in education, social work, public policy, community development, or cultural studies, we offer pathways that connect academic inquiry with real-world impact. We are committed to decolonising knowledge production and amplifying underrepresented voices, ensuring that students engage with diverse perspectives and frameworks throughout their learning journey.
Our benchmark qualification: the EDI Fellowship© is a programme that intends to bring and improve the criticality of EDI at organisational level through greater coherence and integrity of the work of EDI professionals. Th EDI Fellowship © is offered only by the Institute for Equity, University Centre.
Our Level 7 courses are intended to provide learners with knowledge and skills to interrogate and support their organisations’ EDI work.
We also offer workshops, short courses and our new MBA in Leadership, Equity & Organisational Development.
